The “Service de Traduction et d’Interprétariat en milieu Social” (SeTIS) is an association based in Namur that offers social interpreting services in Wallonia. The team of roughly 30 interpreters works in direct contact with social workers and migrants to facilitate communication. SeTIS supports and promotes their integration through its activities and various projects.
SeTIS firmly believes that training is the key to achieving great goals and therefore considers participation in the TREE project a true enrichment. The collaboration with two other regions and with experts who have different routines, knowledge, backgrounds and experiences is particularly beneficial and helps the organisation to expand its network. TREE offers SeTIS the opportunity to exchange expertise and learn from others. It is also a unique opportunity to develop a comprehensive training course aimed at all professionals working with refugees. The exchange with experts from other fields during the training programme is a positive experience for all the participants and strengthens SeTIS’ priority goal of helping migrants.
